Oh boy am I proud of our little "Rainy Bits". The morning she was born, I had been up most of the night watching another doe who was due to kid that day. Rayne's dam wasn't due for six more days. When I went to feed the next morning, I found this little girl soaking wet, crooked legged, and abandoned behind the barn. She spent her first few nights in a laundry basket in Cole's room and has had a room in our hearts ever since.

Cole jumped into the show ring for the very first time at the GDGBA Monroe show and led "Bits" to a Reserve Grand Champion- the very first for a Hammock Haven Doe. It is always a blessing when those special babies turn out especially nice too. While Rayne was the youngest and smallest in the ring, she was commended for her strength in feet and legs.

Again one of the youngest in her class, Rayne went on to take second place senior kid at the GA National Fair. She was commended for her feet and legs, the placement of her front legs, body capacity, and blending.

She freshened with a socked-on mammary, but like her dam, she is going to require another freshening to bring her teats in and have it really look nice.  She's not so "bitty" anymore either with a whopping 29 score in strength.
